Governing Rules
The governing rules of the State Bar are different from the Rules of Professional Conduct. These administrative rules that control how the State Bar itself operates and regulates lawyers.
In North Carolina, these governing rules are codified in Title 27, Chapter 1 of the North Carolina Administrative Code and are adopted by the North Carolina State Bar and approved by the North Carolina Supreme Court.
