Alert: New Phishing Attack - Exercise Caution

The North Carolina State Bar has learned of a new phishing scam targeting various bars and bar members around the country with deceptive emails that have the potential to corrupt computer files. The fraudulent emails pretend to be sent by a state bar or a state bar association and commonly have subject lines referring to bar complaints and past due notices. While we are unaware of any attacks occurring in North Carolina, please closely monitor all unexpected emails.

If you receive what you think may be a fraudulent email purporting to be from the North Carolina State Bar, do not reply, open any attachments, or click on any links. Delete fraudulent emails immediately, as they may contain malicious software. Please call the State Bar at (919) 828-4620 (IT Department) if you have received or suspect that you have received a fraudulent email purporting to be from the North Carolina State Bar.
