Fax Scam Targeting NC Lawyers

In recent days, Lawyers Mutual has been alerted to a fax scam targeting North Carolina lawyers. The focus is on an unclaimed permanent life insurance policy for a deceased client of a Canadian law firm. The law firm seeks a person matching the last name of the deceased client to assist in the retrieval of the unclaimed funds. The letter is highly suspicious and triggers many red flags. Should you receive this fax scam, please deposit it into the shred bin and be sure to inform your staff to do the same.
