The State Bar was the target of a ransomware attack on the evening of Monday, September 30. The attack took down all of our servers, but we are making significant progress on our system recovery and restoration.
As of this afternoon (10/8), the State Bar’s websites are back up, including limited access to our Membership and CLE portals. We expect the website to have intermittent periods of downtime while we continue the recovery process and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Our Membership and CLE databases were restored using backup data through September 24, 2019. This means that information submitted into the system from September 24 through September 30th was lost and must be re-submitted. Please review the following information:
- If you made any online changes to your membership information or CLE records between 9/24 and 9/30, you must log into the portal and re-submit your changes.
- If you made online payments between those dates, the payments went through even if your record might not reflect the payment. We have records of the payments and will update your online account to show payment information as soon as possible.
- Any deadlines for Orders to Show Cause or other administrative requirements that were due between September 30 and October 10 are extended until October 15, 2019.
We appreciate your patience as we continue in the recovery process. This page will be updated when additional information becomes available.
