Job Title: Technology Support Specialist

Purpose of Job: Provide on-site IT and audio-visual support to the organization through direct troubleshooting and collaboration with systems administrator and managed service providers (MSPs). Responsible for the set-up, management, and operation of audio-visual equipment during State Bar meetings, hearings, events, and projects.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Providing support to the organization by applying technical skills to find solutions to the functional needs of users, including new hardware and software solutions.
  • Configuring, deploying, and supporting IT hardware and software on end-users' computers across the organization.
  • Setting up and operating audio-visual equipment for State Bar meetings, hearings, events, and projects.
  • Assisting with the planning, purchasing, and troubleshooting of State Bar audio-visual systems.
  • Providing premiere on-site technical support for State Bar meetings, hearings, and special events.
  • Performing user account administration in Microsoft 365 and/or Azure Active Directory.
  • In conjunction with MSPs, providing on-site, phone, and remote technical support and troubleshooting for end-users' technical issues related to applications, network connectivity, printers, phones, laptops, and desktops.
  • Maintaining State Bar inventory by tracking, deploying, installing, upgrading, and replacing hardware, software, and licenses.
  • Working with systems administrator to ensure that MSPs are meeting service-level agreements.
  • Engaging in projects to improve the organization's technology infrastructure, including phones and audio-visual capabilities.
  • Assist in creating, updating and adhering to procedural documents concerning logging, troubleshooting and repairing technical issues and problems.
  • Assist team members in monitoring and responding to email inquiries and support requests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Associate degree with equivalent IT experience or industry certifications (CompTIA or Microsoft equivalents)
  • Minimum of 1 – 3 years’ experience in a similar or closely related position providing technical support, troubleshooting, and repairing hardware and software
  • Must be customer service oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience dealing with sensitive or confidential information
  • Experience with audio-visual equipment including experience with recording and livestreaming
  • Practical experience with Windows environments: desktop and Microsoft 365
  • Proven experience with modern remote audio-visual and conferencing tools like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex, and YouTube Live.
  • Practical knowledge of cybersecurity concepts
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of deploying, replacing, and moving IT hardware
  • Willingness to complete a criminal background check and pre-employment skills assessment

Working Conditions:

  • Position is non-exempt in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act
  • Hours: 9 am to 5 pm, Monday – Friday, one-hour lunch break
  • Location: On-site, some remote work may be possible
  • Overtime: Occasional, paid or compensatory
  • Travel: seldom
