Job Title: Legal Administrative Assistant
Department: Office of Counsel
Immediate Supervisor: Supervising paralegals, director of operations for the Office of Counsel
Positions Supervised: None
Purpose of Job: To provide accurate, timely administrative support to the Office of Counsel
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Grievance/DHC
- Assist with all administrative tasks associated with the grievance process
- Assist with administrative tasks associated with disciplinary proceedings including discovery, deposition, and trial preparation
- Assist with communications including corresponding with lawyers, complainants, respondents, witnesses, and various court personnel
Non-Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Back up for administrative assistant as needed
- Other tasks as assigned
Accountability and Authority:
The administrative assistant reports to and is directly supervised by supervisory paralegals and the director of operations for the Office of Counsel. The legal administrative assistant is accountable for the accurate and timely completion of all job responsibilities.
Desired Education, Experience, and Skills:
- High School diploma; college degree preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Proficient in Adobe Acrobat
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills along with excellent proofreading and formatting skills
- Desire to work as part of a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work well under deadlines
Working Conditions:
- Position is non-exempt in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act
- Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, one hour lunch break
- This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule once training is completed

Hiring Range: $32,000 - $38,000
