Speakers on topics relative to the North Carolina State Bar’s regulatory mission are available at no charge for presentations in North Carolina to lawyers and to members of the public. Topics include the State Bar’s role in the regulation of the legal profession; the State Bar’s disciplinary process; how the State Bar provides ethical guidance to lawyers; the Lawyer Assistance Program of the State Bar; the Client Security Fund; IOLTA: Advancing Justice for more than 20 Years; LegalZoom, HB 436, and updating concepts of the practice of law; and anti-trust questions for the regulation of the practice of law in North Carolina. The purpose of the Speakers Bureau is to provide information about the State Bar’s regulatory functions to members of the Bar and members of the public. Speakers will not be asked to satisfy the requirements for CLE accreditation; therefore, sponsors of CLE programs are encouraged to look elsewhere for presenters.
